A performer since childhood, Jimmy Clanton began
playing guitar and singing with a band called the
Dixie Cats around his hometown, Baton Rouge,
Louisana. He joined another group, The Rockets,
and after graduation, he appeared in local clubs
and on "Teen-Town Rally," a local radio show.
